Curiouser and Curiouser
OK cammers. We recognise some of the names, but would anyone like to speculate why someone would have posted this link on the comments page of my last post?
Oddly, the time stamp on this comment is 3:52 PM, exactly the time of the Deep Impact collision.
In unrelated news, my blog had it's first visit from someone in Finland today.
7 lords a leaping:
Hmmmm. Also interesting (from the link):
The last five years has seen [Hely] masquerading as a missing person, attempting to deliver a 1m x 2.5m parcel to unknown recipients in Oporto Portugal, filling up Conical gallery with cardboard boxes, going on a blind date wearing a hidden camera and setting up a secret underground organization dedicated to altering the perceptions of its participants.
(emphasis mine)
I knew it!
(does little I-knew-it dance around computer chair; decides it's time to go outside and get some sunshine)
Isn't that all old news LJ?
Yeah, but this is the fist time I've seen the part that I put in bold so explicitly stated. Rob has copped to creating Cam-derivative installations, and told me via email that his work on the billboards was actually part of an elaborate Cam assignment (truth?), but I'd never seen the whole "secret underground organization" aspect credited to him -- only artifacts like the billboards, the film clips, his website, etc.
>his work on the billboards was actually part of an
>elaborate Cam assignment
Oh, that's his answer to everything!
The design of the site is quite consistent with neurocam.com etc too.
Well, I guess we can all go home now.
But the big mystery to me is still: who posted it, and why (and why now)?
As best as I can tell it was someone in Melbourne (judging by the time stamp - there was someone using a Melbourne ISP visiting my site at this time).
But who?
Robin Freakin Hely is who,
He wants to feel important again.
Don't believe the hype.
Hype not believed.
We now return you to regular programming.
